Blue
design, CAD modeling, 3D visualizations
This project was carried out as part of my internship at Yellow Design as a form and CMF study for Blue Sanitary. Modeled in Solidworks and visualized in Blender.
The goal of the project was to create a new series for the award-winning bath accessories incorporating new materials introduced by Blue Sanitary. For my design I opted for a more feminine design aesthetic to create a contrast with the often minimal designs of the previous collections. The fading lines flowing across the surface embellish the handle with a contemporary pattern, aligning with a current trend in Asia where products are frequently decorated with patterns.
The most challenging aspect of the project was the surface modeling in Solidworks, as it required careful refinement to balance aesthetics, ergonomics, and manufacturability.
Vertical surface lines, inspired by products such as the Thermomix TM7, add both visual and tactile value to the shower handle. Visually, the pattern gives it a longer, slimmer, and more refined appearance. The texture also enhances the tactile experience, providing a premium feel and improving the user's sensory interaction with the product.
Along with the redesigned surface, the back of the handle features a rounded shape and a slightly thicker profile than its predecessor, enhancing ergonomics for a more comfortable grip.
The series will be available in three materials, including a new gold-tone option.
